Stay Tuned For Our Guest Columnist This Upcoming Week!

A note from Dick Stockton…

This is vacation time for your reporter. While my wife, Jamie, and I are traveling, I’ve asked a good friend to write a guest column for this upcoming week.

He’s Ernie Accorsi, familiar to many as the long-time successful General Manager of the NFL’s New York Giants.

It was Ernie who drafted quarterback Eli Mannning and put together the teams that played in three Super Bowls, winning two.

Ernie’s football career began as the Public relations director of the Baltimore Colts. After a tour at the NFL’s league office in New York, he served as Assistant GM and General Manager of the Colts, Executive VP and GM of the Cleveland Browns before coming to the Giants, first as Assistant to General Manager George Young, then heading he Giants from 1998-2007.

In recent years he has been called upon by several teams as a consultant in their search for a General Manager.

But before his NFL career, the Hershey, Pennsylvania native was a sportswriter for the three newspapers including the Philadelphia Inquirer.

I am delighted he has agreed to offer his talents this upcoming week.
